Wines

BR Cohn Silver Label Chardonnay
CSWS is the ONLY place around where you can purchase BR Cohn Silver Label Chardonnay. The 2010 Silver Label Chardonnay is a blend of grapes from select North Coast vineyards. Each vineyard contributes its own unique aroma and flavor to produce a wine of exceptional depth and body. It offers aromas of pear, apple and citrus surrounded by toasty French oak and crisp acidity with flavors of green apple and lemon. Enjoy it on its own or pair it with your favorite grilled seafood or poultry.

Treasure Hunter Collection
One of the most exciting wine deals in some time is the Treasure Hunter Collection. Bottled and cellared by KitFox Vineyards in Hopland, CA, these guys conduct a “Treasure Hunt”—searching for outstanding finished wines that they can buy at a fraction (a third to a fifth) of the original cost. The deal is that they cannot disclose the source of the wines—beyond a very vague reference, like “Alexander Valley”. Clever, eh? Clever and extremely good quality/value.

The Treasure Hunter Chardonnay at $15.99 flew out the door in a matter of days. We have about a case of the Jude’s Vengence Cab ($24.99) left and about three cases of the red blend, Jenny’s Teacup ($19.99) remain. The deal is, once this stock is gone, we won’t see it again. The next batch of “Treasure” will come from new and different sources. Stay tuned for the next installment of “Treasure Hunter”.

FlipFlop Wine Family
As the name implies, these are laid-back, easy drinking wines without pretention. They aim to be balance and to be true to varietal character. And they pretty much nail it. Our tasting team learned that these little $5.99 guys ain’t half-bad.

Chardonnay: Medium-bodied, with pineapple, soft vanilla and a lingering finish.

Pinot Noir: Medium-bodied, structured Pinot Noir with bright cherry, sweet spice and a supple, velvety finish.

Merlot: Medium-bodied, silky Merlot with plum and mocha notes, soft tannins and a balanced, lush finish.

Cabernet: Full-bodied, blackberry fruit, dark cherries and a nice finish.

Beer

New Belgium Le Terroir
Le Terroir is a French term meaning ‘Of the Earth.’ Used to reference the environmental conditional that affect the brew, we like to think about the terroir of our foeders. These wooden barrels age our sour beer in varying temperatures, humidity and vibrations. The terroir of New Belgium, so to speak. Add in another variable by dry-hopping with peachy, mango-like Amarillo hops, and we created a beer that changes every time we brew it.

Belhaven Scottish Stout
This deluxe stout is brewed for a full roasted chocolate flavour with a hop character that complements a blend of triple malts. Drink, savour and enjoy.

Avery Old Jubilation
This winter strong ale has a gorgeous mahogany hue, a hint of hazelnuts, and a finish reminiscent of mocha and toffee. No spices, just a perfect blend of five specialty malts. Cellarable for 2 years.

Jolly Pumpkin La Roja
La Roja, an artisan amber ale brewed in the Flanders tradition. Deep amber with earthy caramel, spice and sour fruit notes developed through natural barrel aging. Unfiltered, unpasteurized and blended from barrels ranging in age between two and ten months. Truly an ale of distinction.

Erie Brewing Misery Bay IPA
Misery Bay IPA is brewed as a tribute to Misery Bay and Graveyard Pond, final resting place for many brave sailors and soldiers. Misery Bay IPA offers a complex malt profile loaded with American hops at 75 IBU’s, and finishes at 6.5 % alcohol by volume.

Spirits

Kru 82 Vodka
Kru 82 Vodka comes to us from Holland and, as the name implies, it is 82 proof rather than the typical 80. What really sets it off is the steel water bottle look and black strap and metal carabineer. Just the thing if you’re rock climbing and feel the need for a shot (of what is actually a very clean, crisp, vodka with quite a smooth finish).
