Cool Springs Wines & Spirits' Featured Beer

Terrapin Hopsecutioner
First of all, I have to congratulate Terrapin on the clever and fun label. It's hilarious and cool yet still manages to incorporate a turtle. Great artwork.... As for the beer, Hopsecutioner pours a clear, deep orange with just a light dusting of a foam. The aromas are instantly of grapefruit, pine, orange peel, and floral hops. Definitely an IPA, it pretends to be nothing else. Flavors are of stewed fruits, citrus, grass, and just a touch of malt. The hops are heavy up front but balance out nicely on the finish. This is kind of a back to basics IPA in the best of ways. It doesn't try to incorporate a malty backbone or be a hop monster. It's a refreshing, kick arse American style IPA. That's it. Nothing more, nothing less.
