Rogue Imperial Stout brewed by Rogue Ales in Newport, Oregon - This bruising Imperial Stout pours black with a dark reddish, tan foam. Aromas instantly remind you of dark fruits, raisins, cassis, prunes, and coffee. The mouth feel is very dry at first. It's very much like the tannins of a full bodied red wine. However, the layered flavors transition to a creamy chocolate bar like finish. Other flavors include bitter cocoa, dry spice, roasted malt, espresso, and just a slight touch of sweet alcohol. There's no denying that this bad boy is expensive. If you feel like paying the price of admission though, you'll undeniably appreciate what you paid for.
