Terrapin Reunion '10: A Beer for Hope
Terrapin is known for making great brews that push the limits of beer styles, however they are also known for making beer for a good cause as well. Starting in 2009 Terrapin has released what they call their Reunion: A Beer for Hope, benefiting The Institute for Myeloma and Bone cancer research. There is a very small amount of Reunion '10 still available at Cool Springs Wines and Spirits and these last few bottles are sure to please. The Reunion '10 is a Scotch Ale brewed with Belgian yeast. This dark amber beauty smells of dark malt, toffee, and estery Belgian yeast. The flavor is sweet with caramel, molasses, and dark fruit all coming together in the end to meet a slight bitterness that balances nicely. I hope Cool Springs Wines and Spirits gets Terrapin and Schmaltz' Reunion '11 which is a dark ale brewed with cocoa nibs, vanilla and chili peppers.
